RSS Submit Is a Neat Tool

I just upgraded my copy of RSS Submit. It’s a neat little tool.

Submits to most RSS search engines automatically except for some which require logins and have to be submitted manually.

It really cuts down on the time required to submit RSS feeds.

See the company press notes about the software here:

k.soft releases RSS Submit - RSS feed promotion tool

k.soft announces the release of version 1.0 of RSS Submit, a utility
to automatically submit RSS feeds to the RSS search engines and directories,
for Windows 95/98/NT/ME/2000/XP.

As more web masters begin to incorporate blog and RSS feed technology to distribute their content, they may soon realize not enough readers know about their feeds.

RSS Submit is an automated software tool which submits RSS feeds to the RSS search engines and directories. Real-time status is displayed throughout the submittal process.

Once complete, the user may browse a listing of the result pages from each search engine, verifying their feed was successfully submitted. Submitting a feed to more than 25 RSS search engines can take less than one minute to complete.

RSS Submit also contains several features to make adding RSS feed URLs to the software easier.

The validation feature allows users to test their RSS feed for compliancy prior to submitting.

The auto-discovery feature allows users to enter a web page instead of a direct RSS feed URL and any linked feeds can be automatically added for submission.

Registered users of RSS Submit may add an unlimited number of RSS feeds for submission, unlock more RSS search engines, and receive upgrades to the latest version at no charge by using the update feature built into the software.

A fully functional demo is available to the public at http://www.dummysoftware.com/rsssubmit.html.

Program registration is US$24.95 and may be completed from the company’s web site.

Let me count the reasons:

1. No spam

2. No ads (yet)

3. No more clutter in my inbox

4. No more inbox taking up MBs of data on my hard drive

5. No more saving newsletters to "read later" that I know will just clutter up aforementioned inbox and probably never get read (or even deleted)

6. No more taking ages just to download email with loads of huge images and HTML that clog up my ultra-slow connection

7. Being able to go and catch up on my favourite newsletters or blogs anytime I feel like it - just like relaxing and reading a newspaper

Can you add any more reasons here? Maybe we can make this the longest "Why I Love RSS" list there is ;)

The barriers to entry are low, and the potential return is high, says the author, Jeanne Jennings.

To get people to opt in to your marketing messages, must-read content is essential, she advises. Promising discounts and special promotions may work in some instances (consumer packaged goods and other frequent or repeat purchase items come to mind); in other cases you'll need more compelling messages to motivate readers to receive your RSS feed.

One of the best resources on using RSS in marketing is actually a free PDF report from MarketingStudies.net called The Marketer's Introduction to RSS Content Delivery Power, and it covers the following topics.

What is the internet marketing reality of 2004?

The Question of further e-mail usefulness

The e-mail delivery model

Is RSS the solution?

Will RSS replace e-mail?

What RSS actually is?

How RSS works?

Key benefits of using RSS

Key Disadvantages of using RSS

The RSS push vs pull

Key RSS business uses

Why should you care?
