One
of the strategies you need to stay
at the top of the marketing food chain is to innovate and
adapt new technologies to your market in order to remain the leader.
That's why I think one of the most important books
an internet marketer should own is this new two-volume set by
Mike Mograbi. While reading it, my mind was buzzing with new ideas
I could apply to my business.
One of the things I didn't like about it is that
the author tends to depend a lot on copy-and-paste information
from industry sources to provide an explanation of the various
technologies he introduces in the book.
That's not to say the information is bad. In fact
it's excellent, coming as it does directly from industry sources.
It's definitely better than the prospect of him having just provided
links to sources on the web instead.
He's managed to compile actual information about
many different technologies in one place, making it far easier
to read than if it were scattered all over the web.
And he does provide an in-depth explanation of
each technology, along with screenshots of the way they are applied
and actual websites where they were used or developed. An excellent
treatment of the subject at hand.
I would have preferred it if he had provided
his understanding of each technology and its significance in his
own words. He also tends to be a little vague at times, using
the term "bullish" to describe how
promising each new technology looks in the future.
If you overlook these two minor flaws, I believe
that this is truly one of the best, most important eBooks of 2004!!
